How solid should my Internet connection be?

Your Internet connection should be stable and meet our minimum requirements of at least 15 Mbps. However, this is not a defining factor that could ensure the proper functioning of the service.

The quality of the service also depends on your hardware, location, software, and other minor factors, for example, how your Internet provider works and establishes the connection route with our servers.

Let's take a look at what else should be taken into account and preliminary checked:

  • You should check your Internet connection with our servers in the upper-right corner of the Boosteroid webpage, not through any other connection test websites. This is required since our servers are currently located in Romania, Italy, Slovakia, France, Spain, and the UK, therefore, the further you reside from our servers the worse your connection test results.

Note: the connection test should be passed at least twice with a difference of 10 minutes. This way, if your results are too different, more likely, your Internet connection is either not stable as a whole or with our particular servers.

If your results are good, in other words, you have only green indicators and latency doesn’t exceed 20-30 ms, then more likely, you’d be able to comfortably and smoothly use the service. However, we cannot ensure that your streaming quality would be good if the connection test results are yellow or red and the latency exceeds 20 ms.

  • You should also take a look at our general requirements and verify if your device meets all of them. In particular, your CPU and GPU.

  • You should use only Ethernet or Wi-Fi 5 GHz. We cannot ensure the proper functioning of the service if you use either Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz, LTE 4G, or DSL connection.

  • Make sure your Internet connection has no restrictions in place (such as firewall, proxy servers, or VPN).

  • Be ready to disable all third-party processes, applications, and browser tabs on your device before you start to use the service. You should also make sure that your Internet connection is not used for downloading or uploading videos, and other files at the moment of your gameplay through the cloud.
