NAT Strict

NAT (Network Address Translation) is a method routers use to translate a public IP address (used on the internet) into a private IP address (used on your home network) and vice versa.

On Boosteroid, you may encounter the Strict NAT type, which causes connection problems in some multiplayer games — mainly peer-to-peer games and games where one of the players hosts the match instead of a dedicated server.

Strict NAT does not affect playing on public servers.

Strict NAT currently causes problems in the following games:

  • Farming Simulator 19;

  • GTA V (when joining a friend’s server);

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops III.
